Marcella Barbosa is a Notary Public commissioned by the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Born in Brazil, Marcella was a licensed lawyer before she immigrated to Canada in 2005 with her husband.
In Canada Marcella studied business and worked in property management for several years where she gained experience in the local real estate market, as well as construction and development practices. After starting a family, Marcella took some time off to care for her two kids. Going back to the legal field was always a dream, and she returned to work as a legal assistant.
After learning about the Notary profession, together with the incentive of her family and friends, Marcella decided to apply for the SFU Master’s Program and was admitted. After the successful completion of a two year program and passing all required statutory examinations, Marcella was commissioned as a British Columbia Notary Public. Practicing “happy law” and helping the community in the most important times of their lives is extremely gratifying.
In her free time, Marcella enjoys exercising and keeping fit, as well as spending time with her husband and kids riding bikes, going to the movies, and traveling.
